Legislation is defined as a process of enacting statues through legislative bodies such as Parliament as well as establishment and empowering by the Constitution .Legislation also called as 'statuary law' is a law that has been formed or enacted by a government body or a legislature. Another source for obtaining law is judge-made law or what we called case law. The term may be called as a single law, or the combined body of enacted law. A statue denotes a single law. A bill is simply an item before it is considered to be a law. It may be called as legislation as long as it is under consideration to differentiate it from other business.
Legislation may have many objectives. Some of these includes : to regulate, to authorize, to proscribe, to provide funds, to sanction, to grant, to declare or to make restrictions. In case of certain jurisdictions, the legislation have to be assured by the executive branch of government before it becomes a law. Primary legislation becomes a secondary legislation when it delivers the executive or other parties restricted powers.
The legislation is proposed usually by a member of the legislature like a member of Parliament or a member of Congress, or by the executive, where the members of the legislature debate it and its amendment is done before passing it. Mostly, the big legislatures develop only a fraction of the bills being proposed in a particular session. The decision regarding the bill proposal and its entry into force is made according to the legislative priorities of the government.
