Higher education refers to the education in universities, vocational universities, community colleges, liberal arts colleges, various technological institutes , various college level institutes,like vocational schools, trade schools as well as career colleges, that provides the academic degrees or professional certificates to the students.
From the year 1950, second article of the initial Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights legally declares all signatory parties to have the right to education.

Another kind of education and training called, the vocational higher education applies to both practice as well as applied theory and it is provided by various vocational universities as well as schools .
- PROFESSIONAL
This type of education is included along with the higher education, as many postgraduate academic disciplines like law,medicine are well oriented both vocationally as well as professionally.
Activities such as teaching, research as well as various activities related to social service of universities and those related to ground of teaching, including both the undergraduate as well as graduate levels are involved under higher education.. In the United Kingdom, post-secondary education that is at lower level than higher education is called to as further education. Higher education is also called as tertiary education.
