The term employment in a natural way is defined as the service performed for earning money by signing a contract of hire, either written or oral, expressible or implicable, that includes service in the interstate commerce.

Various services are performed by:

  • a corporate officer.
  • A person who according to the usual common law rules is capable of determining the relationship between an employer and an employee , and is considered as an employee
  • A person other than an employee performing services for remuneration of any unit of employment;
  1. As a driver agent or a commission-driver involved in the distribution of meat products, fruit products,vegetable products, beverages,bakery products or laundry or dry-cleaning services etc for his principal.
  2. As a salesman traveling, should not be an agent-driver or a commission-driver, involved in the solicitation and the transmission to, his principal.

Employment is a kind of contract occurring among two parties, one known as the employer while the other one being called the employee. The definition of an employee is as follows: "A person working under another person may be signing a contract of hire, express or implied, either in the oral or written form, and the employer has the capability to control the employee in the details of the process of doing work.

Commercially, an employer receives a productive activity, with the aim to generate the profit, while the employee supplies labor to the enterprise, to get some amount of money in hand. Employment also occurs in various public, non-profit as well as household sectors. Many people are still unemployed and steps should be taken to provide employment to almost all people.

A term related to employment is called self-employment. It is where a person works for himself instead of working for another person or a another company. In order to be self-employed, a person need to be highly skilled in a trade or service.
